Graduation Pavilion designed by Marcelo Spina for ArtPlace
The new digital fabrication lab or "Magic Box" for SCI-Arc students
selected grants
I have several years of experience as a grant writer for various non-profits. Here is a sampling of projects for which I was successful in earning funding.
SCI-ARC:
$50,000 for Design Immersion Days (DID), a summer program for high school students designed to educate the next generation of architects and designers, and to encourage students to pursue higher education.
Funder: National Endowment for the Arts.
$400,000 for construction on two new public performance/lecture spaces in the Los Angeles Arts District.
Funder: Artplace America.
$10,000 for capital expenses towards a digital fabrication lab (“Magic Box”).
Funder: Ralph M. Parsons Foundation.
OJAI MUSIC FESTIVAL:
$4,000 for the BRAVO music education program for elementary and middle school students in the Ojai School District.
I was able to renew the California Arts Council funding for this project after it had lapsed. The California Arts Council does not award grants on the same scale as larger foundations, but the funding they do provide is extremely competitive.
Funder: California Arts Council. Recipient: Ojai Music Festival.
BREATHE CALIFORNIA:
$50,000 for a statewide video PSA contest for high school students on the topic of tobacco prevention and education.
Funder: CVS Health.
