Modern Bohemians

The Justina Blakeney philosophy, also known as The New Bohemians, is all about creativity over wealth, joy, happiness, layering and taking a DIY approach to life. Her outlook on design and life is taking the internet and home decor by storm.

Design Approach

I approached this project by drawing inspiration from my travels and blended heritage of Portugal and Hawaii. I looked at Portuguese Azulejos and Hawaiian quilt patterns for inspiration in the design motifs. For the color palette, I included verdant, emerald hues of blue and green and earthy yellow ochre. For the graphics, I drew on my days as a screen-printer.
