nuccio's nursery

Context

Nuccio’s is a camellia and azalea nursery located in Altadena, CA serving professional landscapers, public garden curators, hobbyists and amateurs. I wanted to promote the Nuccio’s Nursery with a new logo and branding campaign that would boost sales and increase foot traffic.

Design Solution

I looked at vintage graphics on seed packets, as well as azalea and camellia plants themselves, for inspiration for the floral designs and color palette. For the packaging, I looked to origami because of the connection of camellias to Japanese gardens and culture. I discovered the tato fold and thought it was the perfect solution to deliver the invitation because it’s shape and the way it opens is reminiscent of a flower and petals blooming. The slab serif font was chosen to represent the Nuccio family’s Italian heritage.
